Bio

Masha Birkby

Production Services Manager

At some point back in high school, as a newcomer to Canada, Masha’s life was changed when she saw a big, oversized Broadway musical, and she decided to be backstage ever since. In her long career, she’s worked on every possible style of performing arts – theatre, dance, film, music, special events, corporate, and anything and everything else – working in every conceivable branch behind the scenes. She’s a big believer in the power of stories and the power of theatre, in particular, as a way to change lives and help people see something in themselves they never considered before. So as that oversized musical changed her life, she’s hoping that at least some shows she’s worked on did the same for someone else. Besides theatre, the great love of her life is being a mom and reading up on evolutionary biology, psychology, and existential risk.
