A sophisticated romantic musical comedy set in turn of the century Sweden. Winner of four Tony Awards and featuring the song “Send in the Clowns”.
October 12 - 21, 2017 • MainStage
Steven Sondheim’s musical masterpiece A Little Night Music has been enchanting audiences worldwide since its Broadway debut in 1973. With playwright Hugh Wheeler, Sondheim adapted Ingmar Bergman's comedy of manners, Smiles of a Summer Night, into a stunningly sophisticated musical with a timeless score.
Set at the turn of the last century in Sweden, A Little Night Music interweaves a tangled web of former and current lovers. A Little Night Music is full of hilariously witty and heartbreakingly moving moments of adoration, regret and desire. Winner of four Tony Awards, A Little Night Music features Sondheim's popular song, the haunting "Send in the Clowns."
Patrick Street Productions has produced award winning shows in the past including The Light in the Piazza and Rodgers and Hammerstein: Out of a Dream (which was on our MainStage for the 2014/2015 season!).
